ERX NETWORK® RECEIVES EHNAC ACCREDITATION

Accreditation recognizes excellence in health data processing, transactions

FORT WORTH, Texas – eRx Network, LLC, a leading provider of electronic transaction services to the retail pharmacy industry, announced today that it has achieved full accreditation with the Healthcare Network Accreditation Program (HNAP) from the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC). This accreditation, which indicates compliance with industry-established standards and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule regulations, recognizes excellence in health data processing and transactions.

“By completing EHNAC’s rigorous HNAP accreditation process, eRx Network has demonstrated its ongoing commitment to ensuring the security and privacy of health data and processing for our customers,” said Murray Lyle, eRx Network’s president and chief operating officer. “This accreditation is a tremendous accomplishment for our entire team.”

EHNAC’s consultative review process involved evaluating eRx Network in areas of privacy measures, systems availability and security infrastructure. In addition, the non-profit organization reviewed eRx’s process of managing and transferring protected health information and determined that it meets or exceeds all EHNAC criteria and industry standards.

“We are honored to have eRx Network join our select group of HNAP-accredited organizations and congratulate them on this achievement,” said Lee Barrett, executive director of EHNAC.

This is the second accreditation eRx Network has received from EHNAC. The first was in July 2008 with the organization’s e-Prescribing Accreditation Program (ePAP), which assessed eRx’s electronic prescribing and fax-based prescribing transactions for transaction timeliness, accommodation of industry-standard data formats and security measures.

eRx Network is a premier provider to the U.S. pharmacy industry of a secure, reliable and performance oriented network for e-commerce applications. eRx offers a variety of productivity enhancing services including fast, secure switching of third party claims, eligibility services, value-proven pre- and post-edit services, claims reconciliation, resubmission services, electronic prescribing solutions, Medicare/Medicaid DME billing, Medicare denial management services and Medicare/Medicaid eligibility verification. The Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) is a voluntary, self-governing standards development organization established to develop standard criteria and accredit organizations that electronically exchange healthcare data. These entities include electronic health networks, payers and financial services firms, as well as e-Prescribing and other solution providers.

EHNAC was founded in 1993 and is a tax-exempt 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization. Guided by peer evaluation, the EHNAC accreditation process promotes quality service, innovation, cooperation and open competition in healthcare. To more information, visit www.ehnac.org or contact info@ehnac.org.
