About eRx Network
eRx Network has quickly grown to become an established leader in the pharmacy transaction processing industry. Mark Lyle, CEO of eRx Network, started the business in 2001 with the intent of creating a new transaction services company focused on providing the best value, service and products to retail pharmacy. eRx has grown over 100% each year in operation and continues to improve and increase its services to clients.
In March of 2005, eRx Network merged with Allwin Data, a leading provider of specialty pharmacy claims processing. The merger joined two complementary organizations and provided strong opportunities for collaborative offerings to customers. Strengths in technical infrastructure, personnel, service operations and senior management expertise were leveraged for the benefit of all customers. eRx now also provides pharmacists, long-term care facilities, pharmacy practice management vendors, and other healthcare professionals with billing services and data center solutions designed to meet the rapidly changing demands of the healthcare industry.
eRx’s focus is on forming partnerships with our customers and providing them with the electronic tools they require to improve their efficiency, accuracy and profitability. The company now counts among its customers several major regional pharmacy chains, co-op groups, nationwide franchise groups, software vendors and a sizeable base of independent pharmacies.
Electronic Rx Network™ Infrastructure
eRx Network's key asset is the proven Electronic Rx Network™ infrastructure its customers rely on 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. eRx has heavily invested in building two world-class data center environments using proven Internet-generation technology. eRx leads the industry with its two online, load-balanced geographically separate data center facilities. Each facility contains sophisticated fault-tolerant hardware and connectivity to leading network peering points across the U.S.
The Electronic Rx Network™ employs multiple connections in each data center to its provider partners and customers. eRx’s application servers manage transaction and network routing to ensure maximum provider availability and performance. Each data center is fully capable of “self-healing” automatic transaction re-routing in the event of a telecommunication provider failure.
Data Centers
eRx’s two primary data center facilities are located in Chicago and Fort Worth. By operating both data centers in a true online production state, eRx Network is continuously testing its failover capability with every transaction processed. Each facility employs multi-factor enhanced security; redundant extended-runtime UPS and generator systems; redundant air conditioning, as well as gas and delayed action fire suppression technologies. Should the need arise, each facility is engineered to handle 100% of the eRx Network transaction load with no degradation in performance. In addition to our two primary facilities, eRx employs a remote point of presence in New York City in order to better serve our Internet customers in the busy Northeast corridor.
